Sometimes we think meaningful moments will look extraordinary when they arrive.
But often, they come disguised as changing sheets, fixing drawers, organizing a room, or sitting quietly on a bed with someone you love.
This weekend I was doing exactly that—moving things around in my daughter’s room, adding LED lights, surprising her with lilies, her favorite flowers. We sat there playing with the different colors they provided, feeling the mood of the room shift with each shade. We watched one of her shows. No rush. No distractions. Just us.
Later we went to the pool, ran, laughed, played—like time had nowhere else to be.
And somewhere in all of it, something shifted inside me.
It didn’t feel like effort. It felt like love in motion.
It didn’t feel like a task. It felt like life.
My daughter is growing, and moments like these don’t come as easily anymore. Life expands, schedules fill, attention scatters.
So when one of those moments arrives, I don’t postpone it. I don’t divide myself. I go all in.
Sometimes slowing down and enjoying simple things can feel like wasted time. Like an unproductive day. Like nothing important was accomplished.
Maybe that feeling comes because we’ve filled life with endless to-do lists. We keep adding responsibilities, rushing from one task to the next, measuring our days by what got done instead of what was truly lived.
But maybe we were never meant to race through life collecting checkmarks.
Maybe we’re meant to notice what we already have. To enjoy the people we love without turning every moment into an obligation. To sit, laugh, talk, rest, and be fully there.
Maybe Wave 18 is about realizing that love and fulfillment often arrive disguised as ordinary moments.
Because I’ve learned something simple…
Some of the most meaningful moments don’t announce themselves as important.
They just happen quietly—while you’re present enough to live them.
And later, you realize…
They were everything.
