No ves raíces. No ves brotes. No ves promesas.

Wave 19: We Choose Our Seeds
For the last couple of weeks, I kept thinking about planting a tree. It is something I had never done before, but at some point in life, there are things people say you should experience at least once. Read the book. Plant the tree. Take the leap. Complete the bucket list from beginning to end.
So I thought, why not try a papaya tree?
I worked with the seeds, dried them, moved them around, waited until I believed they were ready—according to Google and according to hope. Today I opened a small space in the dirt, placed the seeds inside, covered them, watered them, and now I wait.
Planting a tree feels like many things in life.
You place something small into the unseen. You care for it before there is proof. You protect it while it is fragile. You trust the process before results appear.
Raising children can feel this way. You plant values, guidance, love, discipline, kindness, and wisdom into them day after day. You hope those seeds grow into roots strong enough for life’s storms and branches gentle enough to offer shade to others.
Relationships can feel this way too. Trust is planted slowly. Respect is watered consistently. Love needs sunlight, patience, and care. Neglect can dry it out. Harm can poison the soil.
And character may be the deepest garden of all.
The way you treat people is often the way life returns itself to you over time. Kindness tends to echo. Respect often circles back. Decency leaves seeds in places you may never see.
But cruelty also grows. So does selfishness. So does stepping on others for personal gain. Some people spend years planting weeds and later wonder why peace never blooms around them.
Maybe life is always asking the same question: What are you planting today that you expect to harvest tomorrow?
Maybe Wave 19 is about realizing that every choice is a seed that grows silently—and in time, the ground always answers.

Wave 18: Life Inside the Small Moments
Sometimes we think meaningful moments will look extraordinary when they arrive.
But often, they come disguised as changing sheets, fixing drawers, organizing a room, or sitting quietly on a bed with someone you love.
This weekend I was doing exactly that—moving things around in my daughter’s room, adding LED lights, surprising her with lilies, her favorite flowers. We sat there playing with the different colors they provided, feeling the mood of the room shift with each shade. We watched one of her shows. No rush. No distractions. Just us.
Later we went to the pool, ran, laughed, played—like time had nowhere else to be.
And somewhere in all of it, something shifted inside me.
It didn’t feel like effort. It felt like love in motion.
It didn’t feel like a task. It felt like life.My daughter is growing, and moments like these don’t come as easily anymore. Life expands, schedules fill, attention scatters.
So when one of those moments arrives, I don’t postpone it. I don’t divide myself. I go all in.
Sometimes slowing down and enjoying simple things can feel like wasted time. Like an unproductive day. Like nothing important was accomplished.
Maybe that feeling comes because we’ve filled life with endless to-do lists. We keep adding responsibilities, rushing from one task to the next, measuring our days by what got done instead of what was truly lived.
But maybe we were never meant to race through life collecting checkmarks.
Maybe we’re meant to notice what we already have. To enjoy the people we love without turning every moment into an obligation. To sit, laugh, talk, rest, and be fully there.
Maybe Wave 18 is about realizing that love and fulfillment often arrive disguised as ordinary moments.
Because I’ve learned something simple…
Some of the most meaningful moments don’t announce themselves as important.
They just happen quietly—while you’re present enough to live them.
And later, you realize…
They were everything.

Wave 16: When Survival Becomes Awareness
It’s a quiet night. I’m sitting outside, looking up at a sky that can’t decide if it wants to fully reveal itself. Clouds move slowly across it, soft and unbothered. Not many stars tonight—just enough light to remind me they’re still there.
A cool wind passes through the trees, and somehow even the leaves feel alive with it—like they’re singing, moving just because they can. And I find myself listening.
There’s a strange peace in me tonight. Not loud. Not celebratory. Just… steady. Like something inside me finally stopped running.
This morning, memories came through my phone—old photos, moments that feel like they belong to another version of me. Not distant in time, but in state of being.
Two years ago, everything felt like collapse happening all at once. Health. Emotion. Relationships. Life breaking into pieces in ways I didn’t know how to name at the time.
Cancer is a word that changes the air in a room before it even leaves your mouth.
But even that word… even that chapter… it didn’t end up being only what I thought it would be.
Because cancer…
was a teacher. It taught me how to receive
when all I ever knew
was how to give.It showed me the strength
inside asking for help—
something
I am still learning.Family, friends, coworkers, neighbors…
they became a kind of quiet foundation beneath me.And then there were the invisible hands—doctors, nurses, the ones who move through hospital halls making everything function without needing to be seen.
Moments of care I once would have passed through without noticing.
Now I do.
Now I remember.Hands that showed compassion in ways words never could…
brushing my hair,
pausing,
smiling,
being there.Small gestures that didn’t feel small at all.
And beneath all of it, something quieter was happening too.
A breaking down of who I thought I had to be.
A slow return to something more honest.
I don’t know if you ever fully “finish” learning something like this. Maybe it keeps unfolding in layers you only recognize later.
But tonight, under this clouded sky, I feel it clearly:
Some storms don’t just take things away.
Some storms teach you how to stay.Maybe Wave 16 is about learning that survival was never the end of the story… just the beginning of seeing differently.

Wave 6: Happy and Proud
I am happy.
Truly, deeply happy. And I am proud of myself.
Not because everything is perfect,
but because I did something I didn’t know how to do—and I did it anyway. This weekend, I didn’t just finish two chairs.
I finished proof.Proof that I can learn.
Proof that I can start without knowing everything.
Proof that when I put my heart into something, I will find a way.I didn’t know exactly what to do.
I just knew how I wanted it to look.
So I kept going—staple by staple, nail by nail, mistake by mistake, fix by fix. It’s funny how I spent two days working on chairs.
Not a business plan. Not a website. Not big life decisions.
Just chairs. But while fixing them, I realized I wasn’t just rebuilding furniture.
I was rebuilding my patience, my confidence, and the way I see what I’m capable of building in my life. Now the chairs look like something from a designer house.
But the best part isn’t the chairs. The best part is this feeling—
that I can build things with my own hands…
and maybe build my life the same way.Sometimes we don’t rebuild our lives all at once.
Sometimes we just rebuild a chair—and confidence comes with it.– TodayWaves
