Lately, I’ve realized that what I miss isn’t just having someone in my life.
I miss getting dressed for a reason.
I miss standing in front of the mirror, choosing an outfit, fixing my hair, putting on a little makeup, and feeling excited because someone is looking forward to seeing me.
I miss the anticipation.
The conversations.
The small compliments.
The feeling of being admired, desired, and noticed.
For so long, life has been about responsibilities. Work, bills, family, obligations, unfinished projects, laundry, dishes, schedules, and everything that comes with being an adult.
Somewhere in the middle of taking care of everyone else, I stopped noticing how much I missed taking care of that part of me.
The woman behind all the roles.
Not the employee.
Not the mother.
Not the caregiver.
Just the woman.
The one who still enjoys feeling beautiful.
The one who wants someone to ask how her day was.
The one who wants to share a meal, a laugh, a story, or even a comfortable silence.
The truth is, loneliness is not always about being alone. Sometimes it’s about missing the version of yourself that only comes alive when there is connection, affection, and someone to share life’s moments with.
Not just another person.
But the part of me that existed when life felt a little lighter, a little softer, and a little more shared.
And maybe recognizing that isn’t a sign of weakness.
Maybe Wave 31 is simply a reminder that no matter how strong we become, we were never meant to carry everything alone.
When was the last time you felt truly seen—not for what you do, but for who you are?
