Storms don’t last forever.
Even the ocean, after crashing against the shore with all its strength, eventually becomes still. Not because it has given up, but because every wave needs a moment before the next one begins.
Maybe we do too.
There comes a point when we stop trying to fix everything. Not because we’ve stopped caring, but because we’ve realized that constantly pushing, solving, and carrying every weight isn’t the same as healing.
Sometimes the strongest thing we can do is pause.
To breathe.
To let the noise settle.
Our lives are filled with constant motion. Responsibilities. Expectations. Endless to-do lists. Conversations that replay in our minds long after they’ve ended. Worries about tomorrow before today has even finished.
When all of that is swirling around us, it’s almost impossible to hear our own voice.
But in the space between waves, something changes.
The silence isn’t empty. It’s where we begin to find our center again.
Grounding doesn’t usually happen in the middle of the chaos. It happens when we give ourselves permission to set the chaos down, even for a few moments. When we stop trying to control every outcome. When we simply sit with ourselves, without rushing to become someone different.
That’s why the ocean feels so calming.
It reminds us that stillness is part of the rhythm, not an interruption to it.
The pause isn’t wasting time.
The pause is preparing us for what comes next.
Maybe Wave 48 is about discovering that the answers we’ve been chasing become easier to hear when we stop trying to force them and allow ourselves to simply be.
It isn’t about moving forward. It’s about becoming still long enough to remember where your strength has always lived.
A moment to reflect…
Have you allowed yourself to sit in the space between waves long enough to feel grounded again?
Perhaps today, instead of searching for the next wave, simply allow yourself to enjoy the space between them. You may just find yourself there.
