Lately, I’ve been noticing myself in ways I didn’t before.
My posture. My hands. The way I sit. The way I walk. The way I speak.
Even the little things I do without thinking.
It may sound simple, but paying attention to these details has made me realize how often I move through my own life without actually being there.
My body is in one place, while my mind is already somewhere else.
Thinking about what happened yesterday. Planning what needs to happen tomorrow. Solving something that hasn’t happened yet.
And somewhere in between, the moment I’m actually living gets missed.
I’ve been learning that being present isn’t necessarily about sitting perfectly still or emptying my mind.
It may be much simpler.
It’s noticing.
Noticing my breath. Noticing the person I’m talking to. Noticing how I feel before I react. Noticing my surroundings instead of moving through them on autopilot.
At work. During meditation. With my daughter. With my mom. With friends. And even when I’m alone.
There is something different about being fully where you are.
You hear more. You feel more. You see things you might have otherwise missed.
Being present can also create enough quiet to hear something deeper.
That inner voice.
The feeling that gently says, pay attention.
Some prayers stay with you…
“Lord, take me where You want me to go.”
Wave 62 is simply a call to come back to the moment you’re already living.
Perhaps that prayer is not only about knowing the destination.
It could be an opening door, beginning with a willingness to notice the next step.
Being present is the beginning of listening. We don’t always need to know where the wave is taking us.
We first need to recognize that we’re in it.
Once we notice, we can begin to discover what the moment is trying to show us.
What might you notice if you were fully present for the next moment instead of already somewhere else?
